Graduates
Congratulations
You are now an
H.E.F.T.Y. Graduate. Your hard work has paved a road to success for
you.
Passing Hunter Education alone shows your dedication to hard work and
is
something you should be very proud of. Conservation is a task that is
not easily
met. Understanding conservation concepts is difficult and putting those
concepts into action is even more complex.
As
a graduate a little more effort will have great rewards. Through the
cooperative efforts of land owners, local merchants, and the H.E.F.T.Y.
program
a great challenge is being offered to you.
The
Challenge
The Challenge is
simple. Work hard in school and at home will bring you a great reward.
Improve one
grade, C to B, B to A, A to A+, any grade, any increase.
While
you are working to improve your school grades think about what
conservation
means to you. What is your role in conservation? What can you as, an
individual, do for conservation in your area? What kind of a project
could you
lead others on that would contribute to conservation in your area. Now
write a
paper on conservation. One page is enough but you can write more if you
want.
Make
a copy of your report card and send it and your conservation paper to:

The Contest
You
will be entered into a contest, the best improvement of grades and the
best
report will be chosen by a panel of judges. A longer report does not
mean it is
a better report. Content and thought make a good report so some
research will
help you greatly. Good grades are very important. They will help you to
find a
job, or get into a good college. Good grades may even help you get
money that
you need. While a small improvement is really great the more you
improve your
grades the better your chances are.
The
Reward
One boy
and one girl
for each hunting area donated to H.E.F.T.Y.
will be awarded a free hunt. This hunt could be for Pheasant,
Waterfowl,
Turkey, Antelope, Deer, or Elk. And will be done during regular season
for the
area donated. These hunts will be
free for all winners. License, gun, ammo, food, special clothing, as
well as
anything else will be provided for the winners.
